Gentle Vinyasa Yoga is a slower paced practice with less intense positions, and includes extended time for meditation, yogic breath work and relaxation. A gentle class usually includes more warm up movements and the yoga postures are often held for longer times. A slower and gentler practice of yoga allows a person to move at a comfortable pace, does not push them to do anything that may make them uncomfortable, and creates less strain on their muscles and joints. A gentler style of yoga calms the nervous system so that the parasympathetic nervous system can be engaged. This encourages better digestion, a decrease in stress levels, and an enhanced ability to relax and heal. Students will focus on stretching and breathing in the hopes of reaching a state of rejuvenation. Ages 16+, all levels welcome, no experience necessary.

About Kalista: Kalista is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher and owner of Street Beanz Coffee. Kalista stepped into her first studio 4 years ago and instantly fell in love with the mind and body connection yoga offered. It was the first time she felt permission to feel her body, rather than change it. Kalista has a love for holding space, and allowing others to explore what their bodies are capable of through movement. She brings creative sequencing to the mat, whether you come to her gentle flow or power flow. Her hope is that you leave feeling a sense of peace, clarity, and maybe a little yogi high.
Any class cancellation within 2 hours of the class date/time is non-refundable. To receive a class credit, cancellation requests must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to 2 hours of the class date/time. Class credits can be used on classes of equal value within 30 days.
